Kota Banjarmasin adalah salah satu kota sekaligus merupakan ibu kota dari provinsi Kalimantan Selatan, Indonesia.

Nama asli kota Banjarmasin adalah Banjar-Masih, pada tahun 1664 Belanda menulisnya Banjarmasch atau Banzjarmasch Penyebutan Banjarmasin yang pernah digunakan:

Nama lain kota Banjarmasin adalah kota Tatas diambil dari nama pulau Tatas yaitu delta yang membentuk wilayah kecamatan Banjarmasin Barat dan sebagian Banjarmasin Tengah yang dahulu sebagai pusat pemerintahan Residen Belanda

• 1526 : "Banjarmasih", yang artinya perkampungan "Oloh Masih" (orang Melayu), dipimpin kepala kampung berasal dari Sumatera yang bergelar Patih Masih.
• 1526-1550 : Masa pemerintahan Pangeran Samudera (Raja I) di Banjarmasin. Setelah mendapat dukungan Kesultanan Demak untuk lepas dari Kerajaan Negara Daha.
• 24 September 1526/6 Zulhijjah 932 H : Pangeran Samudera memeluk Islam dan bergelar Sultan Suriansyah. Tanggal ini dijadikan Hari Jadi Kota Banjarmasin, sekarang 480 tahun.
• 1550-1570 : Masa pemerintahan Sultan Rahmatullah (Raja II) di Banjarmasin
• 1570-1620 : Masa pemerintahan Sultan Hidayatullah (Raja III) di Banjarmasin
• 1520-1620 : Masa pemerintahan Sultan Musta'inbillah (Raja IV) di Banjarmasin hingga 1612.
• 1596 : Belanda merampas 2 jung lada dari Banjarmasin yang berdagang di Kesultanan Banten.
• 7 Juli 1607 : Ekspedisi Belanda dipimpin Koopman Gillis Michaelszoon tiba di Banjarmasin.
• 1612 : Belanda menembak hancur Banjar Lama (kampung Keraton) di Kuin, sehingga ibukota kerajaan dipindahkan dari Banjarmasin ke Martapura.
• 1734-1759 : Masa pemerintahan Sultan Tamjidillah I di Martapura.
• 10 Sya'ban 1159 H : Renovasi dan pembuatan Lawang Agung Masjid Sultan Suriansyah oleh Kiai Demang Astungkara di masa pemerintahan Sultan Tamjidillah I.
• 27 Rajab 1296 H : Pembuatan mimbar Masjid Sultan Suriansyah oleh Haji Muhammad Ali an-Najri.
• 15 Muharram 1251 H/1825 : Undang Undang Sultan Adam/UUSA 1825.
• 1857-1859 : Pemerintahan Sultan Tamjidillah yang ditetapkan Belanda menjadi raja Banjar menggantikan Sultan Adam.
• 1859 : Sultan Tamjidillah diasingkan ke Bogor, Pangeran Mangkubumi Hidayat diasingkan ke Cianjur.
• 1860 : Wilayah Kerajaan Banjar dijadikan Afdeeling Bandjermasin dan Afdeeling Oloe Soengai.
• 1900 : Soeara Borneo, didirikan di Banjarmasin, menggunakan bahasa Melayu.
• 1901 : Pewarta Borneo, terbit menggunakan bahasa Melayu. Berdirinya perkumpulan sosial Seri Budiman.
• 1904 : Budi Sempurna, perkumpulan sosial yang didirikan Kiai Mohammad Zamzam.
• 1906 : Sinar Borneo, terbit menggunakan bahasa Melayu. Berdirinya perkumpulan Indra Buana.
• 1907 : Pengharapan terbit menggunakan bahasa Melayu.
• 1916 : Al Madrasatul Arabiah dan Al Waliah berdiri di Seberang Mesjid, Banjarmasin Tengah.
• 1918 : Banjarmasin, ibukota Residentie Zuider en Ooster Afdeeling van Borneo mendapat Gemeente-Raad.
• 1 Juli 1919 : Deean gemeente mulai berlaku beranggotakan 7 orang Eropa, 4 Bumiputra dan 2 Timur Asing.
• 1923 : Nasional Borneo Kongres I. Dunia Isteri, organisasi wanita Sarekat Islam dipimpin Ny. Masiah.
• 1924 : Nasional Borneo Kongres II
• 1926 : Surat kabar Bintang Borneo(bahasa Melayu-China) dan Borneo Post (bahasa Belanda) dengan W. Schmid sebagai redakturnya.
• 1927 : Soeara Borneo, didirikan oleh Hausman Baboe, bercorak nasional serta memuat berita-berita nasional.
• 1929 : Persatuan Putera Borneo, merupakan cabang dari Persatuan Pemuda Borneo Surabaya di Banjarmasin yang dipengaruhi nasionalisme PNI Soekarno.
• 1930 : Bendahara Borneo, nama suatu usaha Studi Fonds di Banjarmasin yang anggotanya dari kaum pegawai.
• 4 April 1935 : Gereja Dayak Evangelis berdiri di Banjarmasin.^[28]
• 1938 : Otonomi kota Banjarmasin ditingkatkan dengan Stads Gemeente Banjarmasin.
• 1942 : R. Mulder, walikota Banjarmasin dalam pemerintahan kolonial Hindia Belanda.
• Februari 1942 :Borneo Shimbun, nama surat kabar yang diterbitkan Jepang untuk Kalimantan Selatan.
• 1945-1957 : Banjarmasin sebagai ibukota provinsi Kalimantan dengan gubernur Ir. H. Pangeran Muhammad Noor.
• 9 November 1945 : Pertempuran di Banjarmasin
• 10 Nopember 1991 : Peresmian Museum Wasaka oleh Gubernur Kalsel Ir. H. Muhammad Said
• 23 Mei 1997 : Peristiwa Jumat Kelabu/Jumat Membara, kampanye pemilu yang berakhir kerusuhan bernuansa SARA (partai).
• 2005 : Terpilihnya H. Ahmad Yudhi Wahyuni Usman sebagai walikota untuk masa jabatan 2005-2009
• 2010 : Terpilihnya H. Muhidin sebagai walikota untuk masa jabatan 2010-2015

Banjarmasin the capital of the province, is a center for trade and tourism. Banjarmasin fed by several rivers and also the location of the land who were minus several centimeters from the surface tides, so dubbed as the city water. The river itself is a means of transportation and community needs of everyday life. Transportation via river or water is the main transportation. There are some local people even build a house on the river commonly called the "Lanting". The house was built overlooking the River. The river becomes very important for business and economic activity ..

Not far from the floating market there is a small island inhabited by tame monkeys which according to legend Tianghoa people are often religious visit, carrying food in the form of banana and beans, supposedly she said if someone came to the island and dirubung by apes will undoubtedly get much luck but if the monkeys on the island ran into the forest on the person will recede sustenance.

So, there is absolutely nothing nutritional about fast food. Fast food simply feeds hunger and craving.
